Rainbow Switch Stickers

When I am stickering up for Le Mans, the first thing that I tell people is to focus on the overall effect. You don't have to be perfect with your application. The stickers will only be on your car for a few weeks. They won't be inspected by more than 99% of people who see them. Stickering up is supposed to be fun.

These tips can make stickering up a little easier. These are our top 10 tips...

  1. Planning. You don't want to wait too long to order your stickers. Stickers and graphics specialists in Le Mans stickers will be busy this time of the year due to so many cars being stuck up. Get it designed and ordered if you have a custom theme in mind. Cars with the best graphics plan ahead, so it's not uncommon for us to start supplying graphics for next year's race in December.

  2. Your paintwork should be in good condition. You shouldn't have any issues if your showroom paintjob is less than 10 years old. Stickers are not recommended PackWith if your showroom paintjob has been resprayed. All you need is common sense! Stickers on top of Armourfend and other paint protection coatings should be avoided. The removal of the sticker will most likely cause the protection coating to become brittle.

  1. Before you apply stickers to your car, make sure it is clean. For extra protection and ease of removal, some people wax their cars before applying stickers. If the stickers will be on the car only for a few days, this is okay. We recommend that stickers be removed from the car as soon as possible. This will ensure that the adhesive doesn't react to the wax, which is unlikely but not impossible. You can clean your car as usual and wipe any contaminants with Isopropyl Alcohol if you are unsure.

  2. If it's very hot, don't apply stickers! You could get into trouble if you are outside on a hot sunny day. The stickers will be printed on self-adhesive vinyl that is approximately 80 millimeters thick. This is less than 1/10th mm. The sticker will melt if it is exposed to heat (your body gets very hot when it is out in the sun). It will become very fragile and almost impossible to apply. Applying on a sunny day is the only option. To cool the panel, run a cold water hose over it. Make sure to use the "wet application".

  1. Always have someone available to assist you. It will be so much easier to have someone else help you apply viper stripes.

  2. You should always have the right tools at your disposal. A household spray bottle with water and a few drops of baby oil (or washing up liquid) is ideal. A spray bottle with water and a few drops of baby oil (or oil for the more adventurous), a small knife for trimming loose ends, and isopropyl alcohol to clean bodywork, remove tar spots, and remove adhesive from stickers. You should also have some masking tape or a chinagraph pen handy. The masking tape can be used to temporarily secure the stickers while you inspect their alignment and positioning. The chinagraph pencil can be used to mark the stickers' edges. Apply the sticker to the backing paper, aligning it with the marks made. Perfect!

  3. The wet application method is best. The wet application method is easier for the inexperienced. However, you will need to wait before you can drive at high speed. Spray a fine mist on the area where you want to apply the sticker, then spray the sticky side (yes, that's the sticky side). You don't have to be timid, the spray can be very liberal. You can place the sticker on the panel and slide it around until you get it in the right position. Start at the center of the sticker and work your way outwards to remove any excess water. You can remove any remaining bubbles by using a pin to poke them.
